De studie bespreekt behandelruimtes waarin natuurlijke sylviniet- en kaliumzouten uit de Westelijke Oeral zijn verwerkt. De onderzoekers keken naar microklimaat, luchtkwaliteit, zoutdeeltjes en mogelijke toepassingen bij huidklachten, luchtwegklachten en herstel. De publicatie beschrijft dat kaliumzoutomgevingen verschillende factoren combineren: zoutaerosolen, microklimaat, luchtionen en minerale eigenschappen. Toepassingen worden onder andere gekoppeld aan atopische dermatitis en psoriasis.
