How often to visit the salt room?

    How often you visit the salt room for halotherapy depends on your complaint or goal. Below you will find advice per condition for the best results.

    General advice

    • A session lasts 60 minutes
    • Start with an intensive phase of several weeks
    • Then a maintenance phase for lasting effect
    • Halotherapy suitable for all ages, from 6 months old
    • Usually noticeable after 5–10 sessions (many visitors experience a first positive difference after just 1–2 sessions)
    • Combinable with regular medical treatment

    Advice per complaint or condition

    Asthma

    2 to 3 times a week, for 3 to 4 weeks

    Thereafter, a maintenance session once a week or once every two weeks to keep the airways calm.

    COPD

    2 to 3 times a week, for 4 to 6 weeks

    Many clients experience less shortness of breath and better expectoration of mucus. Maintain thereafter once a week.

    Bronchitis (chronic)

    2 to 3 times a week, for 3 to 4 weeks

    Salt aerosol helps thin mucus and clear the airways. Maintenance 1 to 2 times a month.

    Bronchiectasis

    2 to 3 times a week, long-term

    For bronchiectasis, structural support is recommended to limit mucus buildup and infections.

    Hay fever / allergy

    2 times a week during pollen season

    Preferably start 4 to 6 weeks before the season. Maintain 1 to 2 times a week during the season.

    Sinusitis / frontal sinusitis

    2 to 3 times a week, for 2 to 3 weeks

    Helps decongest mucous membranes and clear sinuses. For recurring complaints, 1 time a week maintenance.

    Coughing / persistent mucus

    2 to 3 times a week, for 2 to 3 weeks

    Improvement often seen within a few sessions. Continue until airways feel calm and clear.

    Long-COVID / post-COVID symptoms

    2 times a week, for 6 to 8 weeks

    Supports airway recovery and reduces shortness of breath. Maintenance as needed.

    Cold / flu (recovery)

    2 to 3 times a week, until symptoms disappear

    Accelerates recovery and reduces residual symptoms such as coughing and stuffy nose.

    Smoking / quitting smoking

    2 times a week, for 4 to 6 weeks

    Helps cleanse the airways and supports recovery after years of smoke exposure.

    Snoring / sleep apnea (mild)

    1 to 2 times a week, for 4 weeks

    By decongesting mucous membranes, breathing during sleep can be calmer.

    Eczema

    2 times a week, for 4 to 6 weeks

    Salt aerosol calms the skin and reduces itching. Maintenance 1 time a week or every two weeks.

    Psoriasis

    2 times a week, for 6 to 8 weeks

    Helps reduce scaling and redness. Maintenance 1 time a week for calm skin.

    Acne / impure skin

    1 to 2 times a week, for 4 to 6 weeks

    Salt has a purifying and antibacterial effect. Maintenance 1 time every two weeks.

    Respiratory complaints in children

    1 to 2 times a week, for 4 to 6 weeks

    Safe from 6 months. Children often quickly experience less coughing and better breathing.

    Stress / relaxation / general well-being

    1 time a week

    A session supports breathing, relaxation, and the immune system.
